OBJECTIVES OF E-SALAMA: 1. Promotion of interlink with other laboratory managers in the region and the World at large. 2. Conducting annual workshops for laboratory managers. 3. Establishment and management of proficiency testing schemes, quality audit and quality assurance. 4. Establishment of proper procedures for procurement and disposal of chemicals, equipment and their wastes. 5. Building up capacity in acquisition of laboratory related technical skills. 6. Creation of a data base on all chemicals and instruments (active and obsolete) available in various organizations in the region. 7. Offering consultancy in all laboratory related activities 8. Development or promote the already existing mechanisms aimed at establishment of accreditation body in the region. 9. Acting as an advisory body to the Government in all laboratory related issues. 10. Performing all other activities that are permissible under the Laboratory societies Act and related constitution. 11. The association is a welfare/education grouping or camp. It is also an industrial organization with no political agenda. 12. Promotion of the welfare of laboratory managers and all laboratory personnel. 13. Laboratory personnel upgrading in terms of awards, i.e., titles. Areas addressed include: Managing a Modern Analytical Lab, Analytical Laboratory Perspective and Management Questions, Strategic Financial management, Organizational Structure of Analytical Laboratory, Managing and Leadership, Measurement, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, Instrument Repairs and Maintenance/Preventive Maintenance Waste Management and Work Place hazard/Safety Priority, Design of Physical Lab space and Structure Deterioration, ISO Series, Accreditation Issues, Validation, Industrial Policy, Procurement Procedures Interlaboratory Testing Proficiency, Sampling and Environmental Impact Assessment |
